Who We Are

Abdul Rasak Olajide Sanusi Foundation (AROSAF) is a non governmental organisation (NGO) in Lagos, Nigeria, registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2015.

Chief Abdul Rasak Olajide Sanusi was a Nigerian philanthropist and believer in education.He started his education at the Arabic School in Abeokuta. He later attended evening classes in Lagos that he funded himself. An entrepreneur, he founded Sanusi Brothers Nigeria Limited (SBN), which at its peak employed over 2,000 people.

Although he left school at age 12 Chief Sanusi was passionate about education. To that end he sponsored hundreds of people academically in Nigeria and abroad. At the time of his death on 1 August 1997 he was concluding plans to establish a grammar school in Alabata, where he was born.

The Abdul Rasak Olajide Sanusi Foundation (AROSAF) was set up in his memory to continue his work in education and belief that every Nigerian child should have access to education.

The Trustees

Mrs. Afusatu Bunmi Ibraheem

Bunmi Ibraheem is a seasoned legal practitioner with many years of dynamic legal experience. She graduated with an LLB (Hons) from the University of Westminster, holds an LLM (Merit) in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of London and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar in 1990.

Bunmi started her legal career in the chambers of Professor A.B Kasunmu SAN where she worked for (eight) 8 years before founding the law firm Swift and Moore in 2001. She makes available to clients her wealth of experience in speciality areas including, legal business advisory, real estate transactions, compliance and corporate/commercial law. She also provides company secretarial services to multi-national companies.

She is passionate about Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). Bunmi is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association. She is a former Secretary and NEC member of the Section on Legal Practice and former Chair, Law Firm Management Committee.

Ms. Abiola Sanusi

Abiola has over twenty years’ experience working in development and humanitarian settings focusing on advocacy, public policy, education, security, gender and youth. She holds teaching qualifications and is a PRINCE2 Certified Project Manager. She has a BA and MA in Politics, Development Studies and International Relations from the University of London and Warwick respectively, and a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education, from the Institute of Education, University of London. Her professional experience includes policy advisor, developing and implementing system reform in both the public and private sector.

Abiola Sanusi has also worked on projects for Riplington Education Initiative (REI), Goal Prime of Nigeria (GPON), UNICEF, PLAN International, Victims Support Fund, Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA), Restoration of Hope Initiative (ROHI), Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA) and Save the Children International (SCI).

Ms. Tola Sanusi

Tola Sanusi is a Director in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice. A seasoned lawyer and a safety advocate with over 30 years experience in general law practice, she has a special interest in health and safety law, corporate and commercial law, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and legislative drafting.

Tola Sanusi was the first Secretary to the Lagos State Safety Commission, a position she held until 2020. To date, she is the first and only safety (Occupational Safety & Health (OSH)) lawyer in Lagos State Government, Nigeria.

She is an Executive Member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the first Health & Safety Officer of the Environment, Health & Safety Committee of the Association. At the time of writing, she remains the sole representative of Lagos state to the Committee and has participated in conferences and seminars on safety laws and regulations.
